Francis Christian, Medical Hero

Saskatchewan surgeon insists on informed consent prior to children receiving COVID-19 vaccines. Health authority fires him before an investigation has even begun.

Francis Christian has been given 90 days notice of his termination by the Saskatchewan Health Authority.

When a comprehensive history of this pandemic is finally written, it will contain an honour roll of doctors who championed proper medical ethics while others behaved recklessly.

One name on that honour roll will be Francis Christian, a Canadian physician and professor of general surgery at the University of Saskatchewan’s College of Medicine. In recent weeks, Christian has voiced concerns about a number of COVID-related matters. This shouldn’t be surprising. More than a year into the pandemic, it’s clear those in charge have made mistakes. It’s clear many have lost perspective.

Sooner or later, alternative analyses will be presented to the public. Other voices will insist on being part of the conversation. Christian was one of five dissenting Canadian doctors who participated in an hour-long video discussion uploaded to the Internet on June 4th. Two weeks later, he spoke at a press conference linked to a demonstration by concerned parents outside a Saskatoon high school where a COVID-19 vaccine clinic was underway.

On that occasion, Christian released a three-page letter. It began by declaring he wasn’t speaking as the representative of any organization, but as an individual physician and “fellow human being.” His message was directed to parents and teenagers.

Christian describes himself as “very pro-vaccine,” professionally and personally. Indeed, he considers vaccines to be one of humanity’s greatest blessings. Nevertheless, like the recently retired Ontario physician whose guest post was published on this blog last week, Christian believes COVID vaccines are being improperly administered. His letter explains:

The principle of informed consent is being consistently violated in this province for the mRNA vaccine for our kids. I have not met a single vaccinated child or parent who has been adequately informed and who then understand the risks of this vaccine or its benefits.

Christian’s letter outlines eight salient points parents should consider. First of all, this is new vaccine technology. In his words, it “has never been used in humans before.“

Second, since the vaccine approval process takes years, no COVID vaccine has yet received full government approval. Distribution is taking place under “interim order” authorization and “emergency use authorization.”

This is not a minor point. Here’s how a lawyer, who used to work for the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), explains matters. The emphasis in this text is hers. It was part of the email she sent to a journalist:

it’s really important that patients, healthcare professionals, and the public understand that emergency use authorizations are *not* the same as standard FDA approvals or authorizations.

Typically we think of FDA authorization as meaning that there is data and information that in the agency’s view shows the product is safe and effective for its intended use…An EUA, on the other hand, can be authorized if ‘it is reasonable to believe that…the product may be effective.’ The EUA standard is simply a lower standard, and everyone should understand that. Because the pandemic represents a public health emergency, the authorities feel it’s necessary to judge COVID-19 vaccines by lower than normal standards. Which means the risk is higher than normal.

Christian’s point #3 is that “There is no emergency in children.” While kids do catch COVID, he says we now understand their chances of dying are slim. This is wholly in line with the World Health Organization, which continues to declare on its website that “Children and adolescents tend to have milder disease compared to adults, so unless they are part of a group at higher risk of severe COVID-19, it is less urgent to vaccinate them…”

Christian’s Point #4 is that children don’t readily transmit the COVID virus to adults. Even if they did, he says, adults are able to protect themselves. They themselves can get vaccinated.

In Points #5 and #6, Christian draws attention to the abnormally large number of adverse reactions, including deaths, associated with COVID vaccines that have been reported in the US. He talks about “serious medical problems” experienced by young people in many countries, including heart inflammation.

In the 30 years since the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) was launched in 1990, small numbers of people have died in the US each year after receiving a variety of vaccines. The number of post-vaccine deaths in 2021 are unprecedented, and we’re only halfway through the year. Source HERE.

In points #7 and #8, Christian argues that the benefits of these vaccines for kids “is marginal at best,” that we have no way of knowing how these vaccines will affect young people’s health over the long term, and that a safe medical alternative exists. Ivermectin can be administered to any child who tests positive, he says.

Christian wants parents to be given all the relevant facts before making this important decision. He is an honest and conscientious doctor. But Canada has apparently turned into a banana republic. Free speech by medical professionals is apparently forbidden.

Last week, Christian was accused of “engaging in activities designed to discourage and prevent children and adolescents from receiving vaccinations” contrary to positions adopted by government health agencies. He recorded the call during which these accusations were made. You can listen to the whole thing here (talking begins at 4 minutes, 52 seconds).

Christian was further accused of “engaging in unprofessional conduct contrary to individual and public safety” (6:33) by expressing himself on social media and speaking to journalists.

He will now be investigated by the University of Saskatchewan’s College of Medicine (7:01). His “academic responsibilities are temporarily and immediately suspended pending the outcome of the investigation.” He won’t be permitted to advise, mentor, or even speak to students and medical residents (7:18).

He has also been suspended from his position as Patient Safety Director (7:40).

But that was just the beginning. Susan Shaw, the Chief Medical Officer for the Saskatchewan Health Authority, then advised Christian: “I’m giving you 90 days notice of termination without cause of the contractual relationship between the Health Authority and yourself…the agreement will terminate on September 21st, 2021” (10:02).

In other words, Shaw isn’t waiting for the investigation to take place. She has already fired him.
