Activist Material Cited as Evidence in the 2013-2014 IPCC Report

On page 25 of Chapter 2 and page 58 of Chapter 4 (Working Group 2 report of the AR5), the sole evidence the IPCC cites for a claim about the Arctic is a 2012 document authored by Christie and Sommerkorn.

This is not peer-reviewed science, published in a reputable scientific journal. Rather, it is a publication produced by the activist WWF.

Even after the embarrassing Himalayan glacier scandal, in 2014 the IPCC still permits its personnel to treat activist publications as reliable evidence.

The IPCC has a long history

of recruiting scientific personnel with close links to activist organizations such as Greenpeace and the WWF. See, for example, here, here, here, here, here, and here.
