Munich Christmas Market

When I spoke in Munich last month, at the kind invitation of the European Institute for Climate and Energy (EIKE), I had the good fortune to be in town just as the annual Christmas market kicked off.

My understanding is that this tradition stretches back to the 1400s. One begins on Christmas Day, counts back four Sundays, and the Friday prior is the market’s opening day.

I had a great deal of fun taking several hundred photographs. A few appear below (click to enlarge). Here’s hoping your holiday season is a joyous one.
