This blog has never had a tip jar or a donation button. It began as a place to share my thoughts and research findings as my book progressed. Until now I have received no funding of any sort from any party.

My research – including the purchase of books, photocopying fees, and travel expenses – my website hosting, as well as my increasingly regular blogging has all been underwritten by my household. Over the past year-and-a-half this work has consumed the bulk of my time (and yet I still haven’t managed to reply to many of your e-mails, for which I apologize).

I had hoped to be finished the book by now and to be earning a few dollars as a result. But it seems that whenever I pause to double-check a few facts I discover more shocking material connected to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). The project has continued to expand, therefore, and I am only half-way to the finish line.

I believe the exposé I am writing is important. The 22-year-old, highly influential IPCC has received almost no critical analysis from the world’s media. And it shows. I worked for a decade as a journalist (prior to 2002). During that time, I wrote a number of research-intensive investigative articles. But I’ve not encountered a story like this one before. It seems no matter what rock I turn over, a scandal lurks beneath.

This being a season of good cheer, perhaps some of you might consider buying me a cocktail, so to speak. In pubs in my neighbourhood, a pint of Strongbow cider sells for about $7.50. I also have a fondness for Woodford Reserve bourbon (straight up, no ice – wink). It goes for around $12.
